HOUSTON, TX (December 9, 2009) Roman Martinez has been named president of Texas Taxi. Texas Taxi is the parent company of Houston’s largest provider of taxi services and also has operations in Galveston, Austin and San Antonio. Mr. Martinez conceptualized and launched Taxis Fiesta with Greater Houston Transportation Company in 1984. All staff and independent contractor drivers at Taxis Fiesta are fluent in both English and Spanish. The company is well known for its community involvement and especially its support of Houston’s Spanish-speaking community.
Until his recent promotion, Mr. Martinez was president of Taxis Fiesta. He also served in the Texas House of Representatives.

Marlise C. Skinner has been named president of Greater Houston Transportation Company, Yellow Cab, Taxis Fiesta, United Cab and Yellow Cab of Galveston. Ms. Skinner joined the organization over a year ago as the Chief Financial Officer. She holds a degree in Accounting from Texas Tech University and an MBA from the University of Houston and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Ms. Skinner has an extensive accounting background, with more than 15 years experience in the transportation industry. Prior to enrolling in the U of H MBA program, Ms. Skinner served for four years as Vice President and Controller of RoadLink USA, where she played a key role in the company’s private placement, and for three years as Vice President and Controller of TransCom USA, where she was a key player in the company’s IPO.

Yellow Cab Houston is Texas Taxi’s flagship company. With more than 1,200 independent contractor-operated cabs in the Houston area, taxi service is available 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. All cabs are equipped with digital cameras as well as Global Positioning Systems.
